Memorial Wall: Gift of Life
A custom “Threads of Love” memorial wall honoring organ donors and their families, built with the Gift of Life Donor Program and Jefferson Health.

Memorial Wall Project Description
Between September 2019 and February 2020, B&D partnered with the Gift of Life Donor Program to create three custom wall displays honoring organ donors and their families while promoting donation awareness. The Gift of Life Memorial Wall collaborates with Jefferson Healthcare System to memorialize those who gave through organ donation.
Each square reproduces hand-made family tributes; originals are housed in traditional quilts by Gift of Life. The display unifies memorials at the healthcare location as “a meaningful remembrance while acting to raise the awareness of the importance of organ donations.” The memorial wall design features a custom wood cabinet with individual fabric squares for each donor, allowing future updates.
The Unique Needs of this Donor Wall
Given the sensitive display nature, the goal was capturing each square's personality in an updatable format within fiscal constraints.
How We Met the Challenge
The company used measurements, engineering drawings, and mock-ups throughout collaboration. They developed uniform sizing with clients, scanned each square carefully for quality and color, tested prints on various materials (selecting fabric to capture quilt texture), and used rich wood casings complementing vibrant colors.

This display benefited Gift of Life Donor Program so much by raising awareness and connection with the community and donor families, a sense of pride for the health care team and all the hospital staff involved to be a part of providing lifesaving gifts, and a permanent memorial to those who gave so selflessly.
